Gold Coast beaches coped well

Gold Coast beaches coped well with swells of up to 10.5m over the first weekend of March.
There was scarping of between 0.5m and 5m along beaches and about 300m of beach fencing was lost.
This was quite minor damage for such a major swells and demonstrates the good health of our beaches.
Dune care and beach nourishment activities increase the resilience of our beaches and their capacity to cope with swell events
