Government gives $668-Million to Wealthy for Home Renovations but the Needy go without
Morrison and Frydenberg announced the details of the Government's $688-Million home-builder-scheme.
The scheme will fund grants worth $25,000 for home renovations between June and the end of December. To be eligible, single applicants must earn less than $125,000 a year or $200,000 per couple.
If the Government thinks these people are not Wealthy? The Government needs a reality check! And are proving how far out of touch they are with the Community they are supposed to be representing!
New homes valued up to $750,000 will qualify as will renovations worth between $150,000 and $750,000 that result in the property being worth under $1.5 million.
So if you are a Pensioner, Disabled, a Single Parent, or struggling with maintaining your home, you will not be able to renovate/repair your home because the Government will only give money to people who already have money, sounds fair? No NOT AT ALL!
Australia could easily look after the unfortunate within our community and still support the Building Industry at the same time by giving the $25,000 Grant in single amounts to help the needy by allowing smaller renovations to take place and repair their leaking ceilings, dilapidated fences and retaining walls, install Solar Power, the list goes on and is endless…
But of course the Government no longer see this because it’s all about the money honey, and with their capitalistic philosophy steering the ship, I just hope it’s not the Titanic-II.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported that Residential Construction had fallen to a 19 Year Low, and the Grattan Institute program director Brendan Coates said money for social housing, not home buyers grants, was the key to construction stimulus which is also a great idea.
