Australia's housing affordability crisis is set to worsen if steps are taken to reduce the attractiveness of tax concessions on investment properties, according to property research consultancy Matusik Property Insights.

Matusik Property Insights' latest research results indicate that housing affordability will diminish further and rents will continue to increase if investors are denied attractive concessions such as negative gearing.

Matusik Property Insights' property analyst Michael Matusik said that changes to negative gearing would hurt renters as investors would shift their money into other assets
