The number of new listings being added to the market continued to rise over the past four weeks.

50,363 new listings were added to the market nationally, of which 59% were located within the capital cities.

Dwelling sales clearly aren't keeping pace with the amount of stock being added to the market, with total listings also continuing to rise.

There were 293,970 dwellings advertised for sale over the past four weeks, the highest listing count since December last year.

Total listings nationally are 1.6% higher than at the same time last year, but 1.6% lower across the capital cities.

The largest difference in stock levels compared with last year is Melbourne where effective supply levels are 28% higher.

At the other end of the spectrum is Darwin, where total listings are 20.5% lower compared with last year.
